Travelin' Thomas

We went to an Owen (my mom's side) family reunion last weekend - Carter's first plane trip.  He actually did pretty well on the way out, except for the whole not-sleeping thing.  We were hoping that the white noise and motion would work magic on the little guy, but the closeness and activity of the plane won out.  It didn't help that our daycare provider decided that beans would be a good food to try the day before we left.  Thank goodness the plane was loud...

The Great Uncle Waldo and cousins Georgia and Nate got to hang out with Carter for a few days.

Carter was ENTRANCED by the musical-ocity of Nate and the famed Neil Diamond guitar.  I didn't get a picture of that event, but Brian also got a chance to play it:

There was eating to be done after the socializing:

After the reunion, the fam went to Mom's house in the country to decompress and play with trains:

And hang out in the kitchen:

And cuddle:

 Twice:

And stretch:

And smell flowers:

And soak in the sunshine:

We forgot to take pictures on the flight out, but here we are on the flight back:

He's not exactly a seasoned traveler, but it was a good start.  Lessons learned:

Spring for a suite.
Pack more burp cloths.
No beans before a flight.
You gotta know when to fold 'em.
Do NOT check the doodlebug.
