Some New Sounds

In addition to being a pretty smiley little guy, Carter has been trying out his voice recently.  We've been enjoying the new (non-crying) sounds and thought we would share them.   Enjoy.

Day With Dad

Mimi had to head back to work for a day, so I've had the pleasure of staying home with the little guy.

Like many good days, this one started with a coffee break.
Warm beverages all around...

Continued with a little jam session.  Rock'in the uke...

But everyone's eyelids got a little heavy, must be naptime...

A quick sleepy trip to the home brew shop for ingredients to make a batch we've been dreaming up (No it's not a milk stout)...

Then out for a walk down to the beach and back...

Finally, some much maligned tummy time...

Can we do it again tomorrow?

Even more of the First Big Adventure

Syracuse has had more than 70 inches of snow this December so it seemed like the perfect time to introduce Carter to the joys of being outdoors in the winter.   We had a great walk in our neighbor's back fields, but what we like best is tromping through the woods on snowshoes.

Happy to be outside!

I would say that Carter enjoyed himself, but since it was only 17F out there he was snuggled tight against me.  I'm pretty sure he slept the whole time...  Shaylie, on the other hand, tore tirelessly around the back forty in search of the rabbits she KNEW were there somewhere.

Carter was hard to see so I labeled him...

It might be corny, but being out in the silent snowy woods always makes me think of the Robert Frost poem.  We'll put that on the list to read with Carter some day.
